Skype had a good run.
It helped us stay connected back when “video call” felt like something out of a sci-fi movie.
But as of May 5, 2025, it’s officially the end of the road.
What’s Happening?
Microsoft is shutting down Skype for good—and encouraging all users to migrate to Microsoft Teams. If you’re still using Skype for business communications, the clock is ticking.
Don’t panic: your message history, group chats, and contacts will automatically transfer to Teams.
But that doesn’t mean you should wait until the last minute.
Why It Matters for Your Business
- You need a plan—especially if your team or clients still rely on Skype
- The sooner you switch, the smoother the transition
- Teams is a big upgrade: it offers chat, calls, video, file sharing, calendars, and collaboration tools all in one
This is a great opportunity to rethink how your business communicates—and make sure you’re not patching things together with outdated tools.
What Should You Do Next?
- If you’re a current Skype user: let’s plan your transition to Teams (or another platform that fits your business)
- If you haven’t used Skype in ages: great, now’s the time to explore better tools
- If you’re not sure what you’re using: we can help you audit your systems and make a simple plan
We’ll guide you through the switch, make sure your important info moves with you, and help set you up with tools that are built for today’s business needs.
May 5 is coming fast. Let’s make sure you’re ready.
